Hi and thanks for visiting my website. In sharing my background with you, I wish I could say that I learned needlework at my mother's knee. I didn't, but I'll come back to that.
I was born in Philadelphia at the Very Beginning of the Big Baby Boom and was raised in the suburbs. Since graduating from high school, I've worked as a secretary and scheduler for a Christian singing group, a keypunch operator (this was before PC's) and a bookkeeper. At the present time, I work
part time as a Coordinator for the local Meals on Wheels program. I live in Doylestown, PA with my husband, Jack and have one married son.
In 1979 I started a calligraphy design business from which I
retired several years ago.
In 1989 I learned to do historical cross stitching using silk thread on linen fabric. The focus was on 18th and 19th century samplers and show towels. I designed and stitched samplers as commissions for people but then I decided that it would be more fun to design samplers to be sold as kits with materials authentic to the period.
Jack is my general support person. Besides customizing an E-Cad program for charting the sampler designs, he makes any equipment that I need for production. My sister,
Lois, helps in the production end of the business.
I've been truly blessed by the friends that I've made through the business. If you have any questions about anything you see on this website, please e-mail or call me. I'd be happy to talk with you.
